The coastline from Gaviota to Point Conception is the holy grail of surf on the west coast of the USA
George surfed here, filmed here, commercial fished for lobsters here, and nearly died here when
he was caught in a kelp ball in giant surf and held underwater until he nearly drowned. He broke free
and made it to the surface just before blacking out.
